What I read, watch, and listen to informs my studies--I teach classical languages and comparative literature--but also gets transformed inside me. I write in response, trying to follow the condensing tracks of word-drops; when the patterns and refractions seem to make a certain sense, or when they have a certain sound, I transcribe the pursuit into poems.
